Frequently Asked Questions
What is Raw4Paws?
Raw4Paws is a single-protein, complete raw diet made from Australian meat, organs, bone, and a blend of vegetables, fruit, and essential fatty acids. It’s formulated to be nutritionally balanced — not just “meat in a tub.” No grains, no fillers, no artificial junk.
Is Raw4Paws a complete meal or just a topper?
It’s a complete meal. You can feed Raw4Paws as your dog’s full diet. It’s not just mince. It includes muscle meat, organ, bone, and plant-based micronutrients like kelp and oils to support skin, coat, joints, digestion, and immune health.
What proteins are available?
We offer single-protein recipes such as Beef, Chicken, Kangaroo, Lamb, Goat, and Turkey. Because each recipe is made from one main animal protein, it’s great for dogs with intolerances or allergies — you can do proper elimination feeding without guessing.
Is Raw4Paws suitable for dogs with allergies or sensitive stomachs?
Yes. Many dogs with itchy skin, ear issues, or tummy drama do better on a clean, single-protein diet with no fillers. Novel/lean proteins like Kangaroo and Goat are especially popular for dogs with food sensitivities.
Can puppies eat Raw4Paws?
Yes. Raw4Paws is formulated for all life stages, including puppies. You just need to feed the correct amount for their age/weight and adjust as they grow. (Puppies are little calorie vacuums. Keep up.)
Can senior dogs eat Raw4Paws?
Absolutely. The recipes are high in quality protein to help maintain muscle, and some proteins (like Kangaroo) are naturally lean, which is helpful for older dogs that need weight management.
How do I serve it?
Raw4Paws is sold frozen.
- Move the portion you need from the freezer to the fridge and let it thaw safely in a covered container for the rolls or with the lid on for the 1kg tubs.
- Once soft, it’s ready to serve.
- Keep any thawed leftovers in the fridge and use within 2–3 days.
Do not microwave it in the tray/roll. Do not leave it sitting out all day in summer. Use basic food safety (the same way you’d treat raw meat for yourself).
How much should I feed?
General starting point (dogs at a healthy weight):
- Adult dogs: around 2–3% of ideal body weight per day
- Puppies: 4–6% of current body weight per day (split into multiple meals)
Example: a 10 kg adult dog would typically eat ~200–300 g per day. This is a guide only — metabolism, activity, age, and body condition matter. Adjust up/down based on how your dog looks and feels, not just the number on paper.
Can I mix Raw4Paws with kibble?
You can, and lots of people do while transitioning. Some dogs handle mixed feeding perfectly. Some have sensitive digestion and do better switching slowly or feeding raw and kibble as separate meals (AM/PM). If your dog has a touchy gut, change gradually over 5–7 days.
Can puppies eat Raw4Paws?
How long can Raw4Paws stay in the fridge once thawed?
Use thawed product within 2–3 days for best freshness. After that, bin it. Do not refreeze thawed food.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
No. All Raw4Paws products are frozen raw food, which is temperature-sensitive and cannot be re-stocked once it leaves our hands. For health and safety reasons, all sales are final.
If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or thawed in transit, contact us within 24 hours with photos so we can review it.
Why is frozen raw food “no returns”?
Because once it’s out of temperature control, we legally and ethically cannot resell it. We have to assume contamination risk after pickup/delivery. That’s standard for raw pet food.
How is it delivered / collected?
We keep Raw4Paws frozen until it goes to you. After that, you’re responsible for getting it into your freezer quickly. Please make sure someone is available to receive it (or you have a plan — cooler bag, etc.).
What’s the difference between the tubs and the rolls?
- Tubs: Larger packs, great for medium/large dogs or multi-dog homes.
- Rolls: Each box contains 8 x 200 g rolls. Perfect for portion control, small dogs, rotation feeding, or if you don’t want a half-open tub sitting in your fridge.
Do I need to add supplements on top?
No extra supplements are “required” for healthy adult dogs in normal condition — Raw4Paws is already balanced. Some owners still choose to add extras like joint support, omega boosters, or probiotics depending on their dog’s individual needs. That’s optional.
Will my dog’s poop change?
Yes. On raw, stools are usually smaller, firmer, and less smelly because there’s less filler coming out the other end. That’s normal. If you see very hard, crumbly stool, you may be feeding too much bone — try a slightly lower bone protein or add a touch of fiber (like plain pumpkin).
Is raw safe?
Raw4Paws is produced under strict standards, but it’s still raw meat. Wash hands, clean bowls, don’t let it drip on your cutting board, don’t kiss your dog in the mouth mid-meal (yes, we have to say it). Immunocompromised households should talk to their vet before feeding raw.
My dog is picky. Which protein should I start with?
Most “I’m too fancy to eat” dogs go for Chicken or Beef first because they’re familiar, then you can rotate in Kangaroo, Goat, etc. Rotating proteins is great long-term for variety and micronutrient range.
Can cats eat Raw4Paws?
Yes — Raw4Paws has a feline-specific formula made just for cats.
Raw4Paws for Cats is a complete raw diet made with a very high percentage of Australian grass-fed beef (at least 95% real meat). It’s designed to meet a cat’s nutritional needs, including essential amino acids for muscle maintenance and growth, plus naturally occurring iron, B vitamins, zinc, and omega-3s to support skin, coat, and overall health.
It also includes added taurine (critical for heart and eye function in cats), natural calcium for strong bones, probiotics for digestion, and beneficial oils. There are no grains, fillers, or artificial additives.
So yes — you can feed Raw4Paws to your cat, as long as you’re using the Raw4Paws for Cats formula (not the dog formula).
